GET TO KNOW MARCUS

Marcus is, first and foremost, a 305er, a father, and a husband. Born to a mother whose family fled Communist Cuba, and a father whose parents escaped Nazi Germany, Marcus was raised in Miami, Florida.  Marcus went onto Wesleyan University and the University of Michigan Law School, where he graduated with honors and obtained a Master's degree in sports management.

After representing a number of professional swimmers in connection with the 2008 Olympic Games (Beijing), Marcus joined Holland & Knight as a commercial litigator and then served a year as a federal law clerk to U.S. District Judge Alan S. Gold. In 2010, Marcus joined the Dolphins organization, where his involvement in many community initiatives accelerated his desire for public service.

Marcus hopes to bring a fresh, compassionate and community-oriented approach to the bench that is respectful and understanding of the needs of litigants and their counsel.  Having played a key role in the renovation of Hard Rock Stadium, he also hopes to participate, in some capacity, in the process to create a world-class civil courthouse in downtown Miami befitting of our world-class city.
